Is there ever a moment in life where things calm down? Just for a day?
It seems there’s always something urgent that must be dealt with, always something unexpected that’s gone wrong and needs to be prioritised ASAP!
Â
As it turns out, this issue I’ve been having with Student Finance that I thought was resolved was of course, decidedly NOT resolved, and my course has had to remove me until a payment method has been confirmed.
Thanks, The Student Finance Company.

So, while I’m using all my days off from work to chase this nightmare of a mess up, I can’t keep up with my studies properly – I’m trying to do my best using the textbook, but I can’t access anything else or contact my tutor.
Â
Very glad that I’ve just submitted my assessment BEFORE this happened, so my next one isn’t due until the end of May.
Â
But you’ll forgive me for not keeping to my daily writing habit OR planning my weekly blog post.  I’ve been busy. And stressed.
Â
Meanwhile I’ve also lost my entire wallet (probably because the stress is incredibly distracting) so buying groceries and managing my money will be a little difficult until these new cards arrive. (‘Ce la vie’ to my ID and everything else that isn’t so easy to replace)
Â
But here, have a little snippet of creative writing. I’m practicing.
Â
A forest, lush and vivid with a kaleidoscope of shades, all greens and browns and tinted with a warm yellow of the sunshine, in the spots where it had managed to break through the canopy above.
the scents of the forest were strange. The chemicals and tints of humans that was ever present back home was nowhere to be found. it scared her.
to her right the foliage next to her rustled, nearly causing her to jump out of her skin, but the tempting scent of rabbit emanated, her jaws suddenly very wet as her stomach growled audibly, just in time to see it dart out and away quick as a shot.
her ears perked up in surprise, she'd never seen something move so fast. she watched it go.
she sniffed the air, trying to catch the whiff of humans, in vain hope that something familiar would lead her to a clue, something, anything.
maybe then she could find her way back.
but there was nothing.
she whined, anxious and abandoned, alone in this strange place.
Â
There, that’s something. Well done me.
Â
Now where’s the wine.
